About the Role:

We are seeking an Electrical Construction Manager to join our Power Division in Dublin. The Construction Manager will be responsible for delivery of electrical projects, taking the lead on site, supported by the Contracts Manager and Project Team. The ideal candidate will have experience in delivering large scale projects managing multiple teams to deliver safe projects in line with the contractual scope of works.

This position requires that the individual be comfortable in a fast-paced project environment, as well as possess excellent problem-solving, organisational and communication skills coupled with a high level of professionalism representing Mainline Power.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management and supervision of projects to budget and time constraints.
  • Ensure the Construction Team is adhering to all Contractual requirements.
  • Assist with project finance reporting providing relevant progress updates.
  • Review contractors costs and claims.
  • Compile weekly progress reports on works completed.
  • Attend regular meetings with the Client.
  • Identify issues and risks at the earliest opportunity and resolve or escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Plan, forecast and schedule workload, equipment and resources.

  • Minimum of 5 years’ operating in a similar role.

About the Role:

We are seeking an Engineer with programming experience in MS Project and P6 (Primavera)  to join our Power Division in Cork. The successful candidate will report directly to the Commercial Director and will become a part of the Project Delivery Team. This position will provide support in all areas to the Commercial Director and the Operations Director as well as the team members, and requires a high degree of technical knowledge and business acumen.

This position requires that an individual be comfortable in a fast-paced work environment, as well as possess excellent problem-solving skills, superior organisational and communication skills and the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

Your new role

You will begin your career with us by joining a multi-disciplinary team working on a number of projects in Dublin Airport, reporting directly into the Senior Manager on site. Your duties will include record management, checking drawings and calculations, etc. You will also be involved in ensuring quality and safety standards are met on site while communicating with stakeholders and sub-contractors.

What you’ll need to succeed

In order to succeed, a relevant qualification in Civil or Electrical Engineering is required, and previous experience working with a main contractor in Ireland is desired but not essential. The ideal candidate for this position will be eager to progress in their career, have excellent communication skills, with a willingness to learn and exceptional data management and IT skills.

About the Role:

We are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to support our Senior PM on site, in the delivery of a major renewable (Wind Farm) project, the main focus of which is Civils led. The Project is in the Nordic Region (Sweden), where the successful candidate will be based initially for the duration of the project, before then being based in our Cork or Dublin Office. The position requires a proven track record in Wind Farm Construction.

Supported by the Senior PM on site, this position includes management of all areas of Site Operations, as well as support of fellow team members, and requires a high degree of technical knowledge and commercial and business acumen.

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote best practice in health, safety and environmental matters in conjunction with the SHQE department.
  • Management of project teams (Civil Sub-contractor and Electrical) during the construction and installation phase of the project.
  • Co-ordination of constructability input during solutions identification and development phase.
  • Co-ordination and allocation of construction staff to ensure the appropriate construction and installation staff are selected/appointed.
  • Overall management of construction resources including Labour, Plant and Materials.
  • Overall performance management of subcontractors. Liaises with Project Team to deliver programme.
  • Ensure that the construction and installation teams are accountable for their performance against agreed schedules and man-hour budgets.
  • Ensures that all construction and installation activities are carried out in accordance with local Health and Safety Legislation.
  • Ensures that all temporary and permanent construction and installation activities are carried out in accordance with agreed quality procedures.
  • Interfaces with the all other functional leaders within the organisation to facilitate successful development of the project from solution stage constructability through construction, installation, commissioning and handover to the Client.

About the Role:

We are now seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our Power Division, ideally based in Cork or Dublin office, but there is flexibility on this. The successful candidate will report directly to the Power Contracts Manager and will become an integral part of the Power Team. This position will provide support in all areas to the Contracts Manager as well as the team members, and requires a high degree of technical knowledge and business acumen.

This position requires that an individual be comfortable in a fast paced work environment, as well as possess excellent problem solving skills, superior organisational and communication skills and the highest level of discretion and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities

  • Commissioning of Sub-stations / Airfield Installations / Wind Turbines / Solar Systems / Electrical Installations.
  • Responsible for the initial connection to energise installations / equipment.
  • Electrical Quality Assessment and Quality Control.
  • Completing daily / weekly progress reports.
  • Completing commissioning report in a timely and efficient manner.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Qualified as an Electrical Technician / Engineer with minimum of 2 years experience of industrial commissioning and electrical fault finding.
  • Previous experience working on Sub-stations / Airfield Installations / Wind turbines / renewable / solar energy systems is an advantage.
  • Previous experience with MV/HV is preferred.
  • Ability to work alone and in a team environment.
  • Full Clean driving licence and Safe Pass Card are essential.
  • Location flexibility and high mobility required – willingness to work nationwide and on occasion international travel is required.
  • Have a positive, pro-active approach to working in a team environment along with excellent organisational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Physically fit and comfortable with heights.
  • Proficient IT Skills.
  • Prepared to work out of office hours and occasionally on weekends, as and when required.
