Telecoms Infrastructure and Network Build is the original construction sector of our business, which was established back in 1999 as TESL (Telecom Eireann Services Limited), and we initially focused on the Telecoms markets in Ireland and the UK, and quickly became a significant supplier of services to both Eircom (now Eir) and BT.
Within Mainline Group’s Telecoms Division our highly qualified engineers have extensive knowledge of both fixed and wireless networks. Our services cover copper, fibre, poling, wireless, repair and provision of service.
Mainline has Installed, Jointed and Tested hundreds of Km’s of Fibre work on numerous Windfarms. We have installed significant volumes of Fibre in Dublin and Cork Airports, both Landside and Airside. The following are some Windfarm examples:

Mainline is the sole provider of repair, maintenance and coin collection services for over 1,000 payphone units and internet terminals nationally. We have worked diligently with our Client since 2008 to repeatedly deliver innovative and cost saving solutions in challenging market.
Mainline has undertaken numerous projects nationally for ESB Telecoms as part of the ESBT Framework for underground network maintenance & extension. To date we have completed over 15 projects nationwide, involving the construction of underground ducting, access chambers, as well as the installation of fibre optic cable, splicing, termination and testing.
Mainline provides transmission design engineers to Vodafone, working on various network upgrade and maintenance projects at Vodafone’s HQ in Dublin. We also previously managed and configured Vodafone’s femtocell product “Sure Signal” and carried out drive testing of the Vodafone network following various network configurations.
Via our Connect2Fi business (and Mainline Wireless before that), we have installed over 10,000 Wi-Fi access points in Ireland the UK across the Hospitality, Leisure, Office, Health, and Education sectors.
Mainline installed over 2,800 Wi-Fi hotspots for Eir nationwide. Working together with our Client from conception stage, we agreed a pricing structure based on an open-book approach, and developed an in-house IT app based Job Management System (JMS) solution, with a Web access portal which enabled Eir to receive live progress updates and reports.
Mainline previously supplied circa €20 million per annum of access network services to Eir. As part of this contract, we successfully delivered services across all network components, from underground to kerbside to overhead.
Mainline completed MSAN (Multi Service Access Node) installations at more than 40 sites as part of the local loop unbundling programme for Smart Telecom and Eir. The Scope included Soft Switch Exchange installation, testing and commissioning, as well as technical support.
