Being a hospital certain challenges were presented including lead lining, some thick walls and numerous sources of interference. The solution is connected to the Mainline Wireless Cloud Controller Cluster built on the Ruckus vSZ-HA. This Wi-Fi network is for the Staff and Guests to access internet resources and for catering applications currently.

14-06-16 Solar – The Facts.

ISEA
Mainline Group is a member of the ISEA, and the ISEA is calling on Government to introduce a support mechanism for solar – which is currently the only renewable energy technology that does not qualify for any form of a subsidy in Ireland.

Solar – The Facts:

  • Ireland must generate 40% of electricity consumption from renewables by 2020 – it was 22.7%* in 2014.
  • Up to 7,300** direct jobs will be created and sustained with the rollout of a supported solar sector.
  • Proposed subsidies will add just 1%** to domestic retail electricity prices – an average €25m a year. This compares favourably to the €137.7m levy designated for peat in 2016/17 and €334 designated for renewables, mainly wind.
  • Solar PV is the only renewable energy that does not qualify for a State subsidy.
  • Solar operators already have 400 applications ‘grid ready’.
  • An established solar sector (eg: 2GW) could easily generate 20% *** of the country’s overall renewable electricity demand. Data from a 250 kWp commercial rooftop installation in the south-east shows 2GW capacity would produce 7%*** of Ireland’s total electricity needs.
  • Solar meets 3.5% of European electricity demand (7% in Germany, Italy & Greece).
  • Solar power in the UK has produced more electricity than coal across a whole month for the first time. Solar panels generated 50% more electricity than coal in May – an estimated 1,336 gigawatt hours (GWh) of electricity, compared to 893GWh output from coal (research by Carbon Brief).
  • Solar has the potential to deliver €2bn** in gross value added (GVA) and €800m in tax revenues (2017-2030) – giving the economy a return of €3** for event €1 invested in the sector.
  • Solar creates energy security. Some 85%* of Ireland’s energy was imported in 2014 – costing €5.7bn – and 97%* of imports were fossil fuels (not including the fossil fuel content of imported electricity). Ireland’s overall energy use and related CO2 emissions both increased by approx. 5%* in 2015. Use of coal rose 19.6%*.
  • Solar has minimal impact on the environment (land can still be used for agricultural uses) with maximum benefits towards Ireland’s renewable energy 2020 targets. It does not produce any pollutants and is one of the cleanest sources of energy worldwide.
  • Solar power can create the ‘energy citizen’, helping householders and businesses pro-actively manage their energy costs and cut household electricity bills by 50%***.
  • The global investment in solar last year was over $161bn, more than coal and gas combined.

10-10-2014 Morrison Mainline now registered with the Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI)

Morrison Mainline have been congratulated on successfully meeting the criteria for registration by the Construction Industry Registration Board and are now formally registered on the Construction Industry Register Ireland (CIRI).ciri

This is the only register of construction companies that are vetted by Government nominees and industry professionals. CIRI has been set up to help members of the public find competent, experienced construction practitioners. CIRI sets standards for those listed.

To be on CIRI competent construction companies must comply with the building regulations and an industry code of ethics, they must prove their tax compliance and they must meet the health and safety regulations relating to the construction industry. Prior to the establishment of CIRI there was no way for the Irish public to distinguish construction companies who meet these standards from those who don’t.

11-03-2014 Morrison Mainline Ltd. announced as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies!

Morrison Mainline has been named as one of Ireland’s ‘Best Managed companies in the Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme. This year’s winning companies were recognised at an awards gala dinner in Dublin on the 7th March 2014. An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD, congratulated the award winners in a keynote speech at the event.

The Deloitte Best Managed Companies Awards Programme, in association with Barclays Bank Ireland, recognises indigenous Irish companies across the island of Ireland which are operating at the highest levels of business performance. Commenting on the award, Jamie O’Rourke, MD Morrison Mainline, said: “This award is a milestone for our business, and a testament to the hard work of all members of our team. Furthermore it endorses our internal and customer facing processes as best in class on a national level. Our challenge going forward is to maintain these best practices, whilst continuing to strive for further improvements.“

Former CEO of Enterprise Ireland, Frank Ryan, chaired the independent judging panel that took a holistic approach to measuring company performance, looking at strategy, capability, commitment, and management performance, in addition to financials. The Best Managed Companies Awards Programme is the only awards programme that considers a business’ performance from every perspective.

Commenting, An Taoiseach, Enda Kenny, TD, said: “It is great to see so many indigenous Irish companies achieving this best in class standard and a good sign we can achieve the aim of becoming the best small country in the world for business. Companies like the award winners are the job creators who are crucial to our economic recovery. The Government wants to build on the 61,000 new jobs created last year and, through the Action Plan for Jobs, will continue a relentless focus on creating jobs in the domestic economy.”

Brendan Jennings, Managing Partner, Deloitte and judging panel member echoed the Taoiseach’s comments saying: “As the Irish economy continues to strengthen the outlook for the winning companies is extremely positive. They have all demonstrated an exceptional ability to innovate and grow and are now excellently positioned to benefit as the outlook for Ireland Inc. continues to improve.”

Andrew Hastings, CEO of Barclays Bank Ireland, added, “As a lead sponsor, we have witnessed first-hand how some of Ireland’s best managed companies are excelling. Having mentored and supported each of them throughout the process, we have been particularly impressed by their ability to adapt and display best practice management across a wide range of key business areas. It is clear that the companies recognised today have succeeded in applying this winning formula and I believe they are setting a great example for all businesses across Ireland.”

The Best Managed Companies Awards Programme was created to recognise the overall success of a company, including management strength, ability to innovate, strategic initiatives and financial performance – all the elements that contribute to a Best Managed company. The ’Best Managed’ designation is an important marketing tool for the winning companies – but, perhaps most importantly, the award provides a reason to celebrate the efforts of the entire company.
