Group Chairman: Pius Walsh

Pius is a vastly experienced engineering entrepreneur with a proven track record of over 40 years in the utilities industry. Pius established his first civil engineering business whilst still in his early 20’s, and has since established and operated several successful businesses in both Ireland and South Africa. In 2010 Pius sold Insitu-Pipelines, his Johannesburg based civil utilities business to Wilson Bayly Holmes, one of the largest construction companies in Africa. Pius since remains heavily involved in the industry via Mainline Group, as well as Cape Town based Mainline Civil Engineering.

Non-executive Director: John Mullins

As well being a Non-executive Director of the Mainline Group, John is CEO of Amerenco a fast growing, independent Solar PV investment company. Prior to this, John was Group Chief Executive of Bord Gáis for five years to December 2012. During his time John significantly transformed Bord Gáis and increased revenues and profits while modernizing all aspects of its operations, client relations and corporate culture. John has also previously held senior management positions with Greenstar, ESB, ESB International and PricewaterhouseCoopers and was Chief Executive of Bioverda, part of the NTR plc Group prior to joining Bord Gáis. He is a Fellow of Engineers Ireland and the Irish Academy of Engineering. He was also previously President of the Cork Chamber of Commerce, and is currently Chairman of the Port of Cork, Chairman of Anamcara, and a Member of the Board of the Tyndall National Institute. John holds Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Electronic Engineering from UCC and holds an MBA from the Smurfit School of Business, UCD.

Group Managing Director: Jamie O’Rourke

Jamie first started working for the organisation in 2002, on the €30m plus Cork Main Drainage Project, initially as Commercial Manager, and later as overall Project Manager. Jamie subsequently spent several years managing various utility projects, and held the position of National Operations Manager, prior to the change of Ownership in 2011, after which Jamie was appointed MD. Prior to this Jamie worked with Pearse Construction, and Bord Gáis, as well as spending almost 4 years with Insitu-Pipelines in South Africa as Operations Manager. Jamie holds Bachelors Degrees in Mathematics and Civil Engineering from Trinity College Dublin and is a Member of Engineers Ireland, as well as a Deloitte Best Managed Company CEO.

Group Finance Director: Jim Kinsella

Jim has been with Mainline Group since 2004 and is an experienced and highly qualified Accountant. During his time with the Company Jim has established very strong financial controls (as noted by the Deloitte’s Best Managed Company award panel), and also has overall responsibility for our IT systems, a large part of which included our successfully transfer to the Cloud. Jim previously held a number of high level Finance Positions in various sectors including, for 13 years, as Finance Director of Irish Driver Harris (a subsidiary of a large US cable manufacturing corporation) based in New Ross. Prior to that Jim was MD and CFO of the Alfa Metalcraft Companies (Ireland and UK), which is part the vast Fissler Corporation in Germany. During this time Jim also become conversant in German. Prior to this Jim was in the Automotive Industry in the UK for 10 years, rising to the position of Division Chief Accountant with revenues of €6 Billion. Jim originally trained with a firm of Chartered Accountants for 5 years gaining a recognised Accountancy Qualification, and as well as being a Member of the Chartered Management Institute, Jim is a qualified Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Group Operations Director: Adrian Duggan

Prior to joining Mainline Group, Adrian was Director of Asset Management and Operation Director (Water & Engineering Design) at RPS Consulting Engineers, where he gained over 16 years experience in the delivery of utility projects of all sizes, including as the Project Lead on the development of the €130m Ballymore Eustace Water Supply Scheme development for Dublin City Council. As an RPS business leader, Adrian had responsibility for the strategic development and performance of the water services and engineering design sectors within the Company. Adrian holds Bachelors Degrees in Mechanical Engineering, and Applied Physics & Instrumentation, as well as a MBA. Adrian is also a Fellow of Engineers Ireland, and a Member of the Project Management Institute.

Operations Director – Power: Peter McCarthy

Peter was Principle of McCarthy Utility Solutions Ltd. prior to becoming part of Mainline Power in 2014. Over a 14 year period Peter built a successful Electrical and Civil Contracting Business, specialising in MV/HV Sub-Station design, installation and commissioning, and MV/HV Duct design and installation. During this time Peter established an impressive client list within the Energy sector, including Bord Gais, ESB, Nordex, Vestas, Enercon, and Seimens. Prior to this Peter, a qualified Electrician, spent 25 years with ESB working on major projects both in Ireland, and abroad with ESB International, where he gained the electrical, and project management experience, which enabled him achieve business success.
